Tips To Conduct A Great Electoral Campaign

Many people that want to run for political office can be excused for thinking that the first place to start would be to do a bit of research on some previous elections. They may even be excused for thinking that they will have to compile a donor list before anything else.

The truth is that the first and most important thing that you should address in your campaign if you are to run for office would be your family.

No matter how big or how small the office is that you are running for you can guarantee that the biggest supporters that you will have will be your own family.

Running for any office will undoubtedly bring with it a very hectic schedule and also a lot of pressure and stress. It is your family that will inevitably feel the brunt of all this upheaval.

So if you do have the notion of running for office it could be a good idea to discuss it with your spouse. If she has no problems with it and gives you her full support then that is your first battle won in your campaign.

If your children are old enough to understand the situation then it could be a good idea to talk things over with them once your spouse has agreed with you running for office. Make them fully aware that there may be sacrifices that have to be made in the course of the election.

The stresses that come with the election do not end there though. Once you are elected, if that is the case you will have to put a lot of time and effort into serving the people as you should when holding an official title.

No matter what your political aspirations are you should always remember that it is better to have your family on your side. With their continued support it can make the whole process of being in office a far more rewarding experience.

Justice Of The Peace Race Getting Intense

The candidates for the Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Department 3 election are beginning to make the race very interesting. The two challengers, who are both currently attorneys, are hoping to upset the incumbent Tony Abbatangelo. Janiece Marshall and Lary Lamoreux have both entered the race in an attempt to unseat the 17 year veteran Justice of the Peace.

Justices of the Peace hold an important role in the judicial process. They preside over arraignments and bail hearings for cases that will proceed onto the District Court. Justices of the Peace will also handle misdemeanor cases and small claims court issues in their entirety.

The incumbent Justice of the Peace pleaded no contest to one count of misdemeanor battery domestic violence last year. He was subsequently ordered to complete 6 months of community service and domestic violence counseling. This incident is being used by Tony Abbatangelo opponents in the election.

As part of his Justice of the Peace duties, Abbatangelo recently granted bail to an attempted murder defendant. The $7500 bail amount was a small fraction of the $100,000 bail amount that is usually set for attempted murder suspects. The defendant fled and critics are citing this as a mistake by Abbatangelo from the bench.

The domestic violence defense attorney who represented Justice of the Peace Abbatangelo, Tom Pitaro, has a connection to the attempted murder bail jumper. Tom Pitaro represents that defendant as well. Critics have pounced on the connection between the incumbent, his attorney and the bail jumper.

While the election challengers are trying to upset the Justice of the Peace incumbent, Abbatangelo can point to his high ratings and 17 year career on the bench as strong selling points. In addition, Abbatangelo has raised far more money for his campaign than his challengers. One thing is for sure, the Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Department 3 election will be closely watched.
